Private Bologna & Ferrara Tour

Excursions, UNESCO Site
Departure from your location to Bologna. Starting from Piazza Maggiore, the heart of the city, take your time to walk along the old centre to admire some of the most important buildings of the city: the Palazzo dei Banchi, the Palazzo del Podestà, the Palazzo Archiginnasio, the Palazzo dei Notai and the Palazzo del Comune with its beautiful courtyard and the staircase which leads to the monumental Farnese Chapel.
You will also be astonished by the unfinished facade of the Basilica of San Petronio, dedicated to the patron saint of Bologna, an overly ambitious project. Continue walking through the characteristic streets of the medieval market to reach Ravegnana Square with its famous Two Towers, Asinelli and Garisenda, the symbol of Bologna.
Take a look to the complex of Santo Stefano, the religious heart of the city, before leaving for Ferrara. Your daytrip will continue to the Renaissance capital of Ferrara, a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1995. After a relaxing lunch break (not included), take your time to walk or bike the walls to see the city from the top and enjoy a lovely walking through its quiet streets and the beautiful buildings, from the Certosa to the Palazzo dei Diamanti, Piazza Ariostea and the ancient Castello Estense, a formerly fortress and then ducal residence.
Don’t miss a walk through the narrow and picturesque streets of the Jewish Ghetto, which still preserves the memory of one of the oldest Jewish communities in Italy. At the end of the day your personal driver will drive you back to your location.
