Private Monte Castello di Vibio & Orvieto Tour

The name of Monte Castello di Vibio comes from “gens Vibia”, a noble roman family, however, the village origins must be found before the romans.
Today, the castle still dominates the village and the river Tevere which slides below. Due to its position, the close Todi always aimed to conquer it, and in fact Todi was able to conquer Montecastello di Vibio, however, to keep it and avoid revolts, it was forced to pull down the town walls. In order to use it as a strategic defense point, on 1303, Todi rebuilt the castle.
During the age of Napoleon Montecastello di Vibio lived a very bright existence, and the village participated actively to the development of a new era. It is during this time that the Concordia Theatre, the smallest in the world, was constructed.
Your daytrip will continue to Orvieto, a such an impressive city that has been called “the city high and strange.” It is easy to understand the reason why it is called so especially at night, as it seems suspended in the sky, while during the day, it is just resting on clouds. Small chest of art is famous in the world for the Duomo, marvel of Gothic architecture and the well of St. Patrick, a masterpiece of hydraulic engineering. Small, tidy, friendly, Orvieto is a place do not miss during a transit in Umbria for its ancient underground city and excellent gastronomy.
At the end of the tour your personal driver will lead you back to your location.
