Private Todi & Spoleto Tour

Meet your personal driver at your hotel lobby and start an amazing daytrip in the Umbria region. Your first stop will be the town of Todi, a fascinating old town located in a delightful panoramic position on a hill in the central area of Umbria. Todi is the home of Jacopone, a great mystic and a poet from the 13th century, and a remarkable figure of the Franciscan order and Italian literature. Take your time to discover the town and its medieval buildings, starting from the Church of Santa Maria della Consolazione, a majestic domed church dating back to the 16th century and one of the most significant monument in the Umbrian Renaissance architecture. Next, you will find the Church of S. Fortunato, a rare and beautiful example of German-style late Gothic hall church. In the crypt one finds the relics of Jacopone. The main square is bordered by three balanced and well-proportioned Gothic buildings and introduces to the Duomo, which reveals in its interior a peculiar and articulated history. After relaxing lunch time (not included), continue your daytrip to Spoleto, situated in a strategic position overlooking the ancient “Via Flaminia”. Take your time to admire the splendor of its Romanesque churches and the Umbrian-Roman remains, such as the Cathedral, a masterpiece of the Romanesque art. Its façade has ornate rose windows and a beautiful Byzantine mosaic. From the Tower Bridge, a powerful structure used both as aqueduct and walkway, you can begin the exploration of the town, enjoying the splendid view on Monteluco, ancient sacred pagan wood and later seat for early Christian oriental hermits. At the end of the tour your personal driver will lead you back to your location.
